New Comet on its close approach to Earth!! It will be visible through Naked Eyes…

Turn your eyes to the sky, source: Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) is likely to be bright enough to be seen with the naked eye in the coming months. It can now only be seen through telescopes, but it is still very far from the sun. It has time to shine, and it can be as bright as Venus, the brightest planet of the night sky in October.

Its closest approach to the Sun will be on September 27, at a distance of 58.6 million kilometers (36.4 million miles) from our star. This is similar to the distance to Mercury. A few weeks later, on October 12, the star will make its closest approach to Earth at a distance of 70.6 million kilometers (43.9 million miles).

The maximum magnitude might happen in the month of October. Some predictions suggest it will shine brighter than all stars in the sky. A better reflection would make it brighter than Jupiter, but slightly dimmer than Venus. This will be a very bright object and will be visible after sunset, if it starts to shine as expected it will be very easy to see.

The comet was discovered independently by two observatories more than 15 months ago. The first was the Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory (Purple Mountain Observatory), after that, this comet was later rediscovered by the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) in South Africa. This discovery was based on observations before December 2022.
